Acupuncture helps to re-establish balance and flow through the meridians by stimulating or sedating the Qi, or energy flow, as needed. In many cases, acupuncture can provide instant relief, making it suitable as a treatment for both acute and chronic health challenges. Traditional Asian acupuncture is rooted in the ancient Chinese theory of Qi. Qi is an energy, or life force, that runs through the 12 Meridians of the body. The Meridians carry energy, blood and information to help regulate the body's organ and nervous system functions.
What is Halotherapy?
Salt Therapy, also referred to as Halotherapy, is a drug-free holistic therapy that recreates the microclimate of a salt cave and helps treating respiratory conditions such as cold, flu, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, sinus infections, sinusitis, rhinitis, hay fever and emphysema. In addition, the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of Halotherapy effectively treat skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. Halotherapy can dramatically enhance sports and singing performances and improve lung function by increasing lung capacity and stamina. It has no side effects and helps build your immune system.
How does Halotherapy work?
A 45 minute treatment in the Halotherapy Room is equivalent to spending about 3 days by the beach. Dry salt aerosols are dispersed into a room where the floor is covered with Himalayan pure salt. A negative ion and antibacterial environment is created by the salt on the floor. You just sit back and relax in our tranquil salt room whilst listening to ambient music with low level mood lighting. Clinical studies have shown that salt therapy reduces inflammation in the respiratory tract and aids in mucous clearing, leaving patients breathing easier.
Are there any side effects?
Typically there are none. Few individuals have experienced a slight throat tickle which can be treated with gargling warm to hot water. In cases with an individual that is highly sensitive they can experience slight skin irritation or red patches; however, they go away after a few sessions. If you experience increased coughing due to mucus buildup that means the salt therapy treatment is working. This is the body’s natural way of draining the mucus buildup.
In which cases should Halotherapy be avoided?
• Existence or suspicion of cancer
• Any kind of infectious disease
• Acute respiratory disease
• Cardiac insufficiency
• Cardiac and coronary diseases
• COPD with 3rd stage of chronic lung insufficiency
• Coughing of blood/bleedingInfections accompanied by fever
• High blood pressure/hypertension in IIB stage
• Any form or stage of tuberculosisIntoxication
• Chronic kidney disease
• All internal diseases of decompensation
What is Biosound Therapy?
Biosound therapy uses sounds, images, guided meditations and vibrations to ease an individual out of a heightened emotional state into a relaxed, peaceful frame of mind. Completely natural, non-invasive and virtually effortless on the part of the participant, biosound therapy offers a new way to offer emotional healing and overall well-being.
How does it work?
Based on what you’re feeling, or what’s going on in your head in each particular moment, your brain waves reflect that level of alertness or energy. There are five measurable brain wave states that the sensors will detect:
• Gamma – The fastest brain waves, associated with high-level cognition, memory recall and peak awareness.
• Beta – Active, alert and focused, these brain waves occur when you’re thinking, problem solving or practicing focused attention.
• Alpha – Associated with stress reduction and positive thinking, alpha brain waves present in a calmly alert, relaxed and inwardly focused fashion, such as during light meditation or a soothing task.
• Theta – Deep relaxation, vivid imagery and creativity are common in the theta state. Here, we’re closely in touch with our subconscious, such as during deep meditation or REM sleep.Delta – The slowest of all the brain waves, delta is experienced during deep, dreamless sleep. It’s healing and regenerating for the body.
Biosound healing therapy’s goal is to move the brain from an alpha state to a deeply relaxed theta state. When in theta, the brain is more open to new thoughts and suggestions, which paves the way for positive thoughts about oneself and boosted self esteem.
How does Biosound Therapy transition brain waves?
• A: Biofeedback – Allows you to lower stress, reduce negative emotions and achieve relaxation by watching and responding to your body’s signals as presented on the monitor.
• Binaural beats – Using different sound frequencies, this form of music therapy moves brain waves into the theta state.
• Guided meditation – Once in the theta state, guided meditation holds the brain there, allowing it to be open to self- and thought-awareness.
• Positive affirmation – A vital aspect of guided meditation, positive affirmation increases one’s self esteem, reduces negative self-talk and improves self-control.
• Whole body vibrations – Gentle vibrations conclude the session to help induce a feeling of relaxation (similar to sensations felt after a massage) and potentially boost cognition and attention.
What are the benefits?
• A: An improved mood and sense of well-being during the challenges of addiction detox – Partaking in this therapy during detox may reduce stress, alleviate some withdrawal symptoms and have you feeling more positive mentally.
• Completion of treatment – Since so many clients look forward to biosound therapy, and positive affirmations help improve confidence, many individuals see treatment through to completion.
• Return to a calm mental state – Even for those in crisis, biosound therapy has been proven to return them to a relaxed mental state so they are more equipped to handle the challenges ahead.
• A reduction in stress, anxiety and depression – Because of the combination of meditation and positive affirmations, alongside the induced relaxation of the theta state of mind, negative emotions quickly lose their grasp.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries. When inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain.
What is Aromatherapy good for?
Aromatherapy is used in a wide range of settings, from health spas to hospitals, to treat a variety of conditions. In general, it seems to relieve pain, improve mood, and promote a sense of relaxation. In fact, several essential oils, including lavender, rose, orange, bergamot, lemon, sandalwood, and others, have been shown to relieve anxiety, stress, and depression.
Should anyone avoid Aromatherapy?
Pregnant women, people with severe asthma, and people with a history of allergies should only use essential oils under the guidance of a trained professional and with the full knowledge of their doctors.
Pregnant women and people with a history of seizures should avoid hyssop oil.
People with high blood pressure should avoid stimulating essential oils, such as rosemary and spike lavender.
People with estrogen-dependent tumors (such as breast or ovarian cancer) should not use oils with estrogen-like compounds such as fennel, aniseed, sage, and clary sage.
People receiving chemotherapy should talk to their doctors before trying aromatherapy.
As with any new therapy, people receiving medical care for any illness should talk to their doctors about any aromatherapy they are planning on using.
What happens during an Aromatherapy session?
At an aromatherapy session, the practitioner will ask about your medical history and symptoms, as well any scents you may like. You may be directed to breathe in essential oils directly from a piece of cloth or indirectly through steam inhalations, vaporizers, or sprays. The practitioner may also apply diluted essential oils to your skin during a massage. In most cases, the practitioner will tell you how to use aromatherapy at home, by mixing essential oils into your bath, for example.
What questions may be asked in the intake process?
• Your name, birth date, address and occupation
• Your contact information
• Your insurance, if any
• Your personal and family medical history, including current medications
• Personal and family substance use history, including prescription medications
• The reason you are seeking counseling
• Symptoms you feel, such as anxiety, panic attacks, depression or suicidal ideation
• Current life transitions that may be causing additional stress
• History of behavioral health treatment
• Goals for your behavioral health treatment
What is Acugraph?
AcuGraph helps you give more effective acupuncture treatments by providing real-time insight into your patient’s meridian energetics. It includes objective measurement and engaging visual displays of meridian data, as well as treatment point recommendations and historical trending to demonstrate results. It does this by measuring electrical skin resistance at representative acupuncture points, by means of a two-minute exam.
How do I prepare for Acugraph? (Prepare for feet being touched)
AcuGraph measures electrical skin resistance, using a tiny voltage your patient can’t even feel. The measurements are captured, digitized, and interpreted by our advanced, patented software algorithms by gently placing the Acugraph pointer on client's hands and feet to provide unparalleled accuracy and insight.
Do you accept insurance?

However, because we provide holistic services, it is up to your insurance provider's discretion to determine what services and treatments insurance would cover. We also offer payment plans. Please speak with our Intake Coordinator for more information.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management. Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy or life force — known as chi or qi (chee) — believed to flow through pathways (meridians) in your body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, acupuncture practitioners believe that your energy flow will re-balance.
What is Acupressure?
Acupressure consists of pressing the acupuncture points in an attempt to help the free flow of energy in the channel(s). Acupressure is similar to acupuncture, but the person uses their fingers instead of needles to work the point. During a treatment or self treatment, a person will experience a slight pain when the proper acupuncture point is pressed.
What is a treatment like?
• In your first treatment, the practitioner will perform an initial examination and health history to assess your condition.
• Then, you will be instructed on how you need to be positioned for the treatment. In most cases you will be fully clothed, but in the event you need to undress, the acupuncturist will step out to allow you to disrobe and lie under the treatment table sheets.
• The acupuncturist will create a point prescription, which will typically include 10-20 points.
• Once all the needles are positioned, you will be left to relax for 20-30min. The acupuncturist may return to reposition or stimulate the needles.
• Once the treatment is complete, the needles will be removed and disposed of, and you will be ready to go!
• Herbal consultations and additional modalities may be implemented before or after acupuncture.
What kind of results can I expect?
Results always vary from person to person because there are many factors that contribute to treatment outcomes. Some of those factors include: how long you’ve had the condition, how severe it is, and most importantly, how your lifestyle is at home. Many people notice changes immediately, while other people may take longer. But as a general rule, significant and lasting improvements are noticed after repeated treatments. Acupuncture is meant to be a practice that you incorporate into your regular health and wellness routine. It is recommended to continue treatments regularly to support your energy flow and prevent future imbalances.
What does Acupuncture feel like?
The response people have to acupuncture varies slightly, but it is meant to be a comfortable and relaxing experience. You will feel a very light poke with the initial insertion followed by a sensation of heaviness, ache, or warmth. All of these reactions are normal and a sign of Qi stimulation. If a needle feels uncomfortable for more than a minute, let your acupuncturist know and they can adjust it. After a treatment, you will likely feel deeply relaxed, so feel free to take a minute to drink some water & breathe before getting on with your day!
Is it safe?
Is it safe?Acupuncture is extremely safe when performed by a licensed acupuncturist (look for “L.Ac.” next to their name). Because the needles are sterile and acupuncturists complete a strict “Clean Needle Technique”, the chance of infection is minimal. There are very few side effects with acupuncture. In very rare cases the needles will leave a small bruise, but this is normally only in individuals taking blood thinners or who bruise very easily. However, acupuncture is still completely safe for individuals taking blood thinners. Every licensed acupuncturist has gone through rigorous training in needle technique and anatomy & physiology to ensure needle insertion is safe.
